We are Year 3.
Our teachers are Miss Rees (Monday - Wednesday) and Miss Wilson (Thursday and Friday)

Starting Our Day
We begin each morning with an emotional check-in, giving children the opportunity to think about how they are feeling and whether they feel ready for the day ahead.
If a child does not feel ready to learn, they have the opportunity to talk to a trusted adult who can listen and offer support. Our morning check-in is also an important time for us to come together as a class and begin the new day positively.
Our Learning
For Maths, children are taught in their individual year groups, with Year 2 and Year 3 working separately. All children follow the White Rose Maths programme for their main Maths lessons.
Year 2 children also take part in the NCETM Mastering Number programme, which supports them in developing confidence and fluency with number.
Science is also taught separately to Year 2 and Year 3, allowing learning to be closely matched to the curriculum for each year group.
For English, we come together as Poppy Class. High-quality texts are at the heart of our English teaching and provide engaging opportunities for children to develop their reading, writing, vocabulary and communication skills.
Home Learning
Home learning for Poppy Class is shared through Seesaw. Parents and carers will receive their child's individual login details from the class teacher.
We encourage all parents and carers to access Seesaw regularly, as we use it to share children's learning, including photographs and videos of some of the activities taking place in school.
Reading at Home
Regular reading at home is a really important part of children's learning. We encourage children to read regularly with an adult at home, helping them to develop their fluency, confidence and enjoyment of reading.
