Welcome to our Preschool
The Sunflower team consists of four experienced members of staff who are all professional, inspiring, nurturing and passionate about giving every child the best start to becoming an independent learner in a safe and caring environment.
The Sunflower’s ethos is founded on the wider school values of courage, compassion, respect and resilience. As well as spending a great deal of our time learning outdoors in our play area, we also go further afield into our local community, with visits to the local castle and moat, local shop, church, chapel and designated wooded area. We have full access to all the school facilities including the library, sports field and sports equipment and outdoor play areas.
At Sunflowers we believe that every child deserves a warm, supportive environment in order to develop the skills necessary to learn and reach their full potential. Our provision is child-led which means that staff continually observe, assess and interact with children to get a comprehensive grasp of their stage of development, unique styles of learning and areas of interest which are then extended to engage and develop the children in their learning. We encourage and enable the children's family to be a part of this process and place great importance on communication between the setting and home, bringing in family traditions and festivals to support these transitions.
We understand that choosing the right setting for your child to feel safe and happy in is an extremely important decision, therefore we feel that the best way to get a true feel for what we can offer at Sunflowers is for you and your child to come and visit us and meet our children and staff. If you would like to visit please contact the school office to arrange this. t
We hope that we can welcome you at Sunflowers very soon!
